March: in like a lion, out like a lamb. You are so lucky to be inundated with all that beautiful white stuff. I’m checking in from the easternmost end of Long Island, where I’ve been living full-time for the past 31 years. Once again, we have experienced a basically snowless winter… Just 2 inches once, and it only lasted a day. if my memory is correct, it was in the winter of 1992-93 when we had 12 blizzards in a six week span (somethings that I do not believe EVER happened during my four years at Dartmouth in the late 1960s). We totaled 87 inches that winter and it was glorious.

So do what you did yesterday. Bundle up with Erik and go out for a brisk walk. And even in parts of the Northeast, where daffodil shoots were already several inches out of the ground, those hearty little fellas don’t mind being buried in snow one bit. In just another couple of weeks they’ll be getting set to burst into glorious, happy, yellow faces. We are on the cusp of springtime, and our collective yearning will have been well worth it.

The best part of the day is discovering which Celina will be on Singing Bridge. Lovely as always.
