A week ago a flotilla of about thirty fat breasted male robins, showing off their well fedness from the bugs and worms of their flight north, began landing on the lawn spotted with melting snow. More worms? Perhaps, but the hard ground's just letting go of the winter frost. With lots of chatter they began their sharp eyed quest for seasonal territory. Their mates, still living comfortably in the American south, will be along soon. No question an uplifting harbinger of spring. We're ready.
One of the most challenging features of Vermont's networks of gravel roads flows from the four or five inches of grasping mud that magically appears as the dark surfaces absorb more and more heat from lingering sunlight. The essential survival trick, learned from years of time consuming endless wandering, lies in selecting the correct set of deep tracks when you shift from asphalt to gravel. Plainfield? Calais? Maple Corner? Which pair of deep grooves seems the most likely to eventually guide me to Marshfield? A wrong choice simply means some extra hours churning your way to the next asphalt hard road to select another pair of domineering paired tracks. Let's never question Mother Nature. Alas, her wisdom prevails whether raising sea levels, drying the wheat fields, or teasing us about the ski seasons near Tahoe.
Bulbs planted near the low brick foundation of this old ark blossom early from the warmth reflected by the warming sun's moseying longer and higher in its southern arc. And the gift to lighten every H. sapiens worrisome heart - DAFFODILS - are grandly showing off.
Get an early start on your tan. Put that bunch of daffodils or tulips where you can see them when you're munching on some other gift from Mother Nature. Just like learning which muddy ruts will get us where we want to go, we have to become more aware of our behaviors that deeply upset the Lady in charge of it all.
Yes, we put our best foot forward, but it's the other one that needs the attention.

RHYTHM - SAMBA, SALSA, SWING and SPRING
Yes! What colorful textured exquisite threads are showing-up to weave this strong community tapestry. If we think of SB as a loom and think about how our identity—the fabric of our being—is shaped and made up by those who are woven into our lives — it becomes more important to find the courage and show-up for each other and share insight, stories+++
And we have been thinking about how we are relational animals — intertwined in a vast web of relationships and connections that shape and inform our very existence. Our ability to learn and grow is dependent on the community that surrounds us, a tangle of threads that we are inextricably woven into. It's awe-inspiring to consider the profound impact that each of us has on the tapestry of this community, and the importance of our individual contributions in creating a beautiful and vibrant whole.
I am in awe of this interdependent web of relationships, and let us recognize the fundamental need for storytelling in our evolution as human beings. Together, we can weave a tapestry of beauty, strength, and resilience, honoring the diverse and exquisite threads that make up our community.
Love this!! And love this growing community of voices!! 😍😍😍😍
